Charles Thompson Mission is a local charity, which lends a hand to those in need. Since 1982, this Wirral-based drop-in centre has donated hot food, clothing and other basic essentials to the homeless, poor and needy in our local community. As if that wasn’t enough, Charles Thompson Mission, perhaps most importantly of all, offers compassion and kindness.
Inside the drop-in centre, which is a refuge for many, the flooring of the main dining hall had worn out. Wilson’s Flooring volunteered to help. Supporting our local community is very important to us, which is why we donated all materials and labour to this project without cost.
What we did
Wilson’s Flooring Specialists installed 60 square metres of flooring in just one week so there was minimal disruption to Charles Thompson Mission and their cause. We worked with manager Bernie, to decide which flooring would be most suitable for the centre.
Charles Thompson Mission needed flooring which was suitable for a dining area that sees heavy footfall throughout the week. As such, the flooring had to be safe, easy-to-clean and durable.
Outcome
The flooring we chose came from Polyflor, a leading global manufacturer of commercial flooring. We worked with Polyflor to select a floor covering which would meet the requirements of Charles Thompson Mission. This covering was Polysafe Astral slip resistant vinyl, which comes in multiple designs is also assured for us for at least 10 years by the British Board of Agrément.
The new flooring has offered a safe and welcoming place to the people in our community who are in need. They can eat comfortably and hygienically in a warm environment and socialise with volunteers.
